Refund Policy

1. The short version

Squintz is a monthly subscription. You can cancel anytime — no questions asked, no retention call. Your access stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't issue prorated refunds for the unused portion of a current month, except in the specific cases listed in Section 4.

2. Billing cycle

Paid tiers (Scout at $9.99/month and Pro at $29.99/month) bill monthly via Stripe. Your card is charged on the same day each month — for example, if you subscribe on the 15th, you'll be billed on the 15th of each subsequent month until you cancel. The free tier does not charge anything ever.

3. How to cancel

Three ways: • In-app — go to /account and click "Manage subscription." You'll be redirected to the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel with one click. • Direct Stripe portal — if you've used the portal before, the link in any billing email will take you straight there. • Email — write to support@squintz.ai and we'll cancel within one business day. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep full access until then.

4. When refunds apply

Standard policy is no prorated refunds — when you cancel mid-period, you keep access until the period ends and we don't refund the unused days. Exceptions where we DO issue a prorated refund: • Service outage — if a technical failure on our end prevents alert delivery for more than 7 consecutive days, we credit a prorated refund for the affected days. • Duplicate charge — if you're billed twice in the same period due to a Stripe error, we refund the duplicate immediately. • Unauthorized charge — if someone subscribed using your card without your authorization, file a dispute through your card issuer or email us; we'll cancel and refund. • Material misrepresentation — if a Squintz feature you actively rely on is removed without the 30-day notice required by our Terms, we'll refund the portion of the period after the change took effect. Refund requests outside these exceptions are reviewed case-by-case and not guaranteed.

5. How to request a refund

Email support@squintz.ai with: • The email address on your Squintz account. • Approximate date of the charge. • Reason for the refund request. We respond within 48 hours during business days. Approved refunds appear on your card within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank. Please contact us before initiating a chargeback through your card issuer. Chargebacks are expensive for us and almost always resolvable through direct communication. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting support may result in account termination.

6. Promo codes

Squintz subscriptions are paid Day 1 — no free trials. Promo-code discounts apply for the duration stated in the offer; once they expire, you'll be billed at the standard price unless you cancel.

7. Account deletion

Cancelling a subscription is separate from deleting your account. You can keep using the free tier after cancelling a paid subscription. To fully delete your account and all associated data, email support@squintz.ai — see the Privacy Policy for details on data deletion.
